My background

Picture

Born in 1957, I trained as an actor and worked in theatre, radio, film and TV for over 20 years, so I know my way around a set.

But I’ve always had a fascination for history and over the past 25 years I’ve put this to good use in the interpretation and presentation of a great cathedral as well as gaining an in-depth knowledge of religious customs and ceremonies.

I literally wrote the book on Chester Cathedral and have advised on a wide range of exhibitions, plays, TV, heritage destinations and even written heritage statements in support of planning applications.

I have a particular interest in medieval pilgrimage and the world of the 18th century, which I promise, isn’t as boring as it sounds!
